The Progressive Democratic Party (PRALOP) has appointed Santosh Pariyar as its spokesperson. The meeting of the PRALOP's presidential council on Friday appointed Pariyar as its spokesperson.

Pariyar is also the chairman of the party council. Similarly, another chairman of the council, Ojaswi Bhattarai, has been assigned the responsibility of co-spokesperson.

The Progressive Democratic Party was announced a few days ago by former Maoist deputy general secretary Janardan Sharma, former chief whip of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Santosh Pariyar, and coordinator of the NESP (New Power) Durga Sob. Baburam Bhattarai, who is also a former prime minister, is also a member of the party.

Former prime minister Bhattarai will be the patron of the party. The draft statute aims to make the party's collective leadership inclusive of youth and women. The party's election symbol will remain an eye. This party has been registered with the Election Commission in the name of Durga Sob.
