Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the youth are the leadership of the new Nepal.
At the 'Gen-G with NCP' program organized at the party headquarters, Parisdanda, on Saturday, he said that intensive discussions are underway within the party to make the youth the leaders of the new Nepal ideologically, politically and organizationally.
'I am seeing a new dream in the new generation. Now we should dream of making the youth the successor and handing over responsibilities. The youth should be prepared as the leadership of the new Nepal. The party will play a role in that regard,' said Coordinator Dahal.
He said that more and more youth will be given priority in the party committee and elections. 'It is the responsibility of the revolutionaries of the old generation to create an environment where the youth of the new generation can be given more and more responsibilities. Now we will soon make that decision,' said Dahal.
Coordinator Dahal said that the initiative taken by the 'Gen-G' youth to end corruption from the country and maintain good governance has created a new awareness among Nepalis around the world. He also believed that the Genji movement has brought everyone to a place of self-criticism.
Stating that the reform issues that our party has been raising for a long time and the demands made by Gen-G are similar, Coordinator Dahal asserted that the Gen-G movement has given us a new resolve to accept the mistakes and weaknesses made in the past and to change ourselves according to the feelings of the youth.
NCP leader Jagannath Khatiwada said that his party will only listen to the voice of the 'Gen-G' generation and will play its role accordingly. Stating that the youth's desire is to end corruption from the country and establish good governance, he said that the NCP is moving forward with this resolve.
On that occasion, it was announced that Gen-G had joined the Youth Maoists.
