Discussions between the Election Commission and political parties

Discussions between the Election Commission and political parties have begun. On Thursday, Election Commission staff held discussions with political parties at the Election Commission. Earlier, the Commission had also held discussions with political parties regarding preparations for the upcoming elections.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari, Dr. Janaki Kumari Tuladhar, Sagun Shamsher Jabra and leaders from political parties including Pushpa Bhusal from Nepali Congress, Leelamani Pokharel from Nepali Communist Party, RPP, Janmat and others participated in the discussion with political parties on Thursday.

The interim government has set the date for the election of members of the House of Representatives for the upcoming Falgun 21. However, political parties have been accusing the government of not creating an environment for the election.

The CPN-UML has already decided in favor of the restoration of parliament and said it will go to court. Earlier, the commission had discussed the election with Prime Minister Sushila Karki only on Wednesday.
