Leader Lekhak has also put forward the option of holding a regular general convention within the month of December to save the party from the risk of division.

Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak has presented three options for a regular general convention, saying that a special general convention would increase the risk of party division.
‘As soon as you say special, there is a mismatched convention. There is a mismatch between the parties that need a special convention and the parties that do not. The statute says that forty percent will call a special convention. But there is confusion about its procedure and jurisdiction,’ the writer said, ‘Going to a special convention means that the Congress is entering a jungle, there is no single way out. Everyone shows their own way. That means the party will split.’
Leader Lekhak has also put forward the option of a regular convention within the month of Push to save the party from the risk of division. Earlier, when the writer brought a schedule for a regular convention within the first week of Push within the establishment party, it was stopped because seven former office bearers of the establishment party did not agree.
The writer has made the first proposal to set the agenda for the convention and start working on the activities. However, if there is no agreement on the date of the general convention, he has put forward another option that could be decided to call a meeting of the central working committee on Poush 2 to complete the work of active membership within Mangsir. If, the work of active membership is completed within Mangsir, the meeting on Poush 2 will approve the membership list and bring the general convention schedule from ward to center at that time. However, his second proposal mentions that if the work of active membership is not completed, a decision will be taken to hold the general convention after the election.
If the writer does not reach an agreement on both these options, there is a third option that Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka should be given the right to bring a proposal. ‘My third proposal is that the Acting President brings a proposal after consulting with the office bearers and members as needed, and everyone should support it,’ Lakhek said.
In the same meeting on Wednesday, the then parliamentary party chief whip Shyam Ghimire introduced the agenda for the restoration of the House of Representatives into the meeting with the signatures of 45 MPs.
‘We prioritized the election, but let’s not close the door to the restoration of the parliament. The option of restoring the parliament also puts pressure on the issue of holding the election. If we only talk about the election, the election may be uncertain,’ the writer said, ‘The government has not prepared for the election. Prisoners are outside. Thousands of weapons are outside. Sharp shooters have come out. There is no guarantee of a free and fair election. Therefore, the Congress should not leave the option of restoring the parliament.’
He said that the government had decided to deport the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and himself two months ago, but had not informed him yet.
‘It has been two months since the deportment and suspension of passports was decided. This is like being kept in a kind of prison. I do not know what the then Prime Minister has done, but the government has not given me any information till date,’ he said. The Congress Central Committee meeting will continue on Thursday as six office bearers are yet to speak.
