He expressed the view that if the general convention could not be held in Mangsir due to time constraints, current circumstances, and other reasons, it should be held by mid-Poush at all costs.
Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that the party's 15th general convention should be completed by mid-December.
In a discussion with the district presidents and former district presidents available in Kathmandu, he expressed the view that if the general convention could not be held in the upcoming Mangsir due to time constraints, the current situation, and other reasons, it should be held by mid-Poush at all costs.
Leader Koirala said, 'We should hold the general convention before the upcoming general election and go to the polls with new and fresh leadership. I have been saying for a long time that the general convention should be held by mid-Mangsir.' Stressing the need to make the schedule of the general convention in a way that does not conflict with the schedule published by the Election Commission, he pointed out the need for the Congress to move forward in a united, serious, responsible and restrained manner.
He said, 'Everyone associated with the party should prioritize the nation, people and democracy. Since the party has faced many ups and downs in the past, in the coming days, it must unite in the spirit that unity is strength.'
Leader Koirala said, 'Honest, loyal and continuously active friends from all over the country are saving the party. Millions of well-wishers of the party and all external parties are now watching and waiting for the decision of the Congress.'
