CPN-S General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal has said that he will form a new party of the left movement instead of joining the party with the Maoists. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Bhusal said that he will form a patriotic left-wing front and move forward on the socialist path by taking it forward.
'This party will be a party not only of the leaders in the CPN-UML but also of the entire left,' Bhusal said at a press conference.
Today, a program to announce the unity of eight small parties, including the Maoist Center, the CPN-UML, and others, is being held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu. They have agreed to name the party Nepali Communist Party and use the election symbol Tara.
It has been decided that Pushpa Kamal Dahal will be the coordinator of the new party and Madhav Kumar Nepal will be the co-coordinator. However, leaders including CPN-S leader Jhalanath Khanal, General Secretary Bhusal, and Maoist secretariat members Janardan Sharma and Ram Sharma have said that they will not participate in the unity process and will run a separate campaign.
