Khagendra Sunar, who was recommended as the Minister of Labor but was unable to take the oath at the last moment, has appeared before the Kavrepalanchok District Court.
He appeared to give a statement in a case related to electronic transactions, informed the court's clerk Indira Karki Gelal.
Sunar was a fugitive defendant in the electronic transactions case in the complaint filed by advocate Manisha Gautam. It was made public that an arrest warrant had been issued against him after he was recommended as a minister.
The Kavre court had issued an arrest warrant for Sunar on 5th Shrawan with permission to arrest the Dailekh police. Gautam had filed a case in Kavre for electronic crimes with the screenshot of Sunar's abusive comments on social media as evidence.
His statement, which was presented along with a legal practitioner, is now being continued. After the statement is over, the court is preparing to hold a closed-door hearing today. An arrest warrant has also been issued against Sunar in Surkhet on charges of vandalizing a health institution and assaulting a health worker.
A few days ago, when preparations were underway to appoint the Labor Minister, Prime Minister Sushila Karki had withheld the oath after his various cases came to light.
