National Assembly Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal has held bilateral meetings with parliamentary delegations from various countries.

He is in Geneva to participate in the 151st General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU) and held separate meetings with parliamentary delegations from various countries. 

Chairman Dahal's press expert Dilli Malla informed that he held separate meetings with parliamentary delegations from the United Kingdom (UK), the People's Republic of China and Sri Lanka who came to participate in the General Assembly on Wednesday. 

Separate bilateral meetings were held with the Chinese parliamentary delegation led by Chinese leader Chuijing Tian, ​​who is also the chairman of the IPU's Asia Pacific Group, the British parliamentary delegation led by Fabian Hamilton, and the Sri Lankan parliamentary delegation led by Sunil Watgala.

In all the meetings, discussions were held on issues including mutual relations between nations, exchange of parliamentary experience through parliamentary friendship groups, cooperation and assistance at international forums, said Dahal's press expert Malla.

Chairman Dahal informed about the recent Gen-G movement in Nepal, the formation of an interim government and the announcement of elections in the new political environment that emerged from it, and said that Nepal is striving to strengthen democracy by holding elections on time.

Chairman Dahal requested for the support and cooperation of friendly countries for the reconstruction of the structures damaged during the protests and for new elections. During the meeting, he mentioned the direct effects of climate change being experienced by Nepalis and stressed that the world community should support developing countries.
