UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali has said that the party general convention to be held in November will decide on the leadership.

At a greeting exchange and tea reception organized by the UML Bhaktapur District Committee here today, he said that the general convention will be held on the scheduled date and that the general convention will decide the leadership.

Discussing that the party was discussed in detail in the recent three-day central committee meeting, Deputy General Secretary Gyawali said that the date of the general convention was fixed to resolve the questions raised on the leadership.

He said, 'After some friends raised questions on the leadership in the meeting, we cannot go unanswered. Since the sovereignty of the party lies with the party cadres, we decided to go there. Now, we will move forward according to the decision of the general convention, who will be brought in as the leader and the leadership, and what policy will be formulated.'

He said that the central committee meeting decided to hold the general convention from November 27 to 29.

At the program, UML Publicity Department Chief Rajendra Gautam, Politburo member Mahesh Basnet, Nepali Congress Bhaktapur President Durlav Thapa, UML Bhaktapur District President Bachan Deuja, UML District Vice President and Bagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapa, among others, emphasized the need for an impartial investigation into the incidents that took place during the 'Genji' movement.
