Ganga Dahal, daughter of CPN-Maoist Center coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has resigned from her position as secretariat secretary. She said she took the decision in protest against the misleading news and propaganda being spread against her.

On Monday, Dahal clarified in a press release that she had supported the party and the chairman by taking care of her mother and performing the secretariat duties after the death of her brother Prakash Dahal.

She claimed that she had always worked selflessly and had never tried to take steps for personal gain. 'Since I have been constantly being targeted in a planned manner against the coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Center) Prachanda and the entire party, I have come to the conclusion that it would be better for my father, the party and the movement to step down from the secretariat,' she said in the statement.

She said that there is misleading propaganda even about the gift given by her friends on her birthday, 'Those who spread misinformation and misinformation are continuously attacking me and are also misusing the media. Sometimes they say that a bag costs how many lakhs, sometimes a watch costs how many lakhs. I have never bought a watch or bag worth one lakh in my life. It was a gift given by a friend on the occasion of his birthday, whether it was real or fake, that too has been burnt to ashes. The same thing is still being brought up and attacked.'
