The meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee has been postponed. The meeting scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until November 13 due to the death of former party central member Hrishikesh Gautam, said central member Ramhari Khatiwada.
There was a heated debate in the meeting about when to hold the party's 15th general convention. Leader Shekhar Koirala, general secretaries Gagan Thapa, Bishwaprakash Sharma, and several leaders of the establishment faction were in favor of holding the regular general convention in Mangsir itself.
However, as former office bearers of the establishment faction did not want to hold the general convention in Mangsir, General Secretary Thapa has not been able to bring the schedule of the general convention that he had prepared for Mangsir to the Central Working Committee meeting. He has made the schedule of the 15th general convention public on Mangsir 27-29.
