Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's speech and behavior in the cabinet meeting on 23rd of last year is being criticized from all sides for making the crisis in the country more complicated. The ministers participating in the cabinet meeting also said that Oli's stubbornness and lack of information caused a major accident.

The then Health Minister Pradeep Paudel has revealed that he felt that the state did not have any information about the Prime Minister's presentation and how-to at the Cabinet meeting. In the meeting, it seemed that Prime Minister Oli and Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar did not have any concrete information. It may be due to the lack of information, even though a serious incident was happening in the country, there was no sensitivity in the behavior of the Prime Minister," said Poudel.

In the cabinet meeting on the 23rd, the prime minister had no idea about the violent incident that could result from the Gen-G movement. Instead, Prime Minister Oli only tried to normalize the incident. Listening to the Prime Minister's behavior and words, it seemed as if the state had no information, the police administration, special police and the army behaved as if they had not given any information. If he had received the information, I think he would have taken some steps to protect or extend his power,' said Poudel.

Ministers participating in the meeting say that there is no sensitivity towards the incident in which 19 people have died and the Prime Minister's expression shows arrogance and pride. After the death of 19 people, the kind of sensitivity that should be seen in the cabinet meeting was not seen. Instead, the Prime Minister had more arrogance and pride,' another minister added.

Instead of taking the incident seriously, his statement only analyzed the incident from the angle of political revenge and conspiracy . According to Paudel, the Prime Minister took the agitation and violent incidents as a conspiracy against him and was not ready to accept that his popularity had declined or public discontent had increased. He said, "The Prime Minister thought this incident was normal". your  He had no sense that his popularity had declined or that people's dissatisfaction had increased.' Oli's statement shows his indifference towards the incident and his attitude away from reality.

There was a long debate about the decision to shut down social media in the cabinet meeting. On that day, there was a question-and-answer session with the then Minister Paudel for about 30 minutes. He says that he thinks that if Paudel had realized the mistake of closing the social network and decided to open it immediately, the incident could have taken a different turn. However, Prime Minister Oli was stubborn in favor of continuing the ban on social media. Paudel said, "I debated for about 30 minutes whether to open or close social media. If it is to be closed, it should be explained to the citizens." Citizens are so accustomed that they spend most of their time on social media. Even people who are not interested in the movement or politics are angry about the closure of social networks.'

Paudel also argued that social networks will not be completely closed and that there is no justification for the closure as they are running through the use of VPN. Why persist in what is not completely closed? If it is not opened today, this movement cannot be stopped.' But, Prime Minister Oli quoted the letter sent by social network X and said, 'A foreign business company will refuse to register in your country saying there is corruption, no good governance, no transparency ?  It will not be possible while I am alive. Don't let our self-respect come under fire . Who is trying to do business against our policies and rules?' Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal was asked to write a decision. However, the decision about opening the social network was not written. In the end, it was only mentioned that positive initiatives will be taken. Even after all this happened, Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar was not in the meeting . He was in a party meeting . It was said that 1 million compensation would be given to the families of those who died in the movement, but that was not immediately written in the decision . It was decided that arrangements will be made for the free treatment of the injured through the Ministry of Health.

'There was no fear that the prime minister would face a terrible situation the next day,' the then minister Paudel said, 'I thought that if the prime minister's words and behavior were to be ignored, the situation would escalate.' Why was it allowed to go ahead of the Everest Hotel? Earlier it was not allowed to go . Why didn't the procession to Sinamangal stop ? Did you not tell me that the Home Minister, Ramesh Ulakji, knew everything, and the Home Minister also did not know about this ?' The Prime Minister said.
