Vo Thi Anh Suan, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, who is on a visit to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel today.

During the meeting held at Rashtrapati Bhawan Sheetal Niwas, President Paudel said that there is a lot of potential to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Nepal and Vietnam in the fields of trade, tourism, investment and technology transfer. "For this purpose, the government of Nepal is willing to speed up bilateral cooperation," President's press advisor Kiran Pokharel informed, quoting President Paudel's statement in the meeting.  

President Paudel said that Nepal is currently focusing on economic and social transformation through investment in areas such as agriculture, tourism, production and hydropower. He expressed his happiness that Vietnam has been able to develop its economy as a dynamic economy in the world. 

He said that especially Buddhism is a bridge for the deep relationship between the people of our two countries and also said that it is a matter of happiness to see Lumbini as a holy place that many Vietnamese must visit once in their life. 

On the occasion, Vice President of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Suanle  President Paudel's Press Adviser Pokharel informed that it is necessary to create a framework for comprehensive relations between the two countries before 2030 in the context of Nepal's efforts to become a middle-income country by 2030 and Vietnam's efforts to become a high-income country by 2045. 

Vietnam's Vice President Suan said that cooperation between the two countries is necessary in the fields of culture, sports and tourism. He said that he was impressed by Nepal's commitment to maintaining peace in the international arena and its commitment to the effects of climate change.
