Chairman of Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that building a self-sufficient economy based on local potentials such as agriculture, industry, herbs, tourism and transforming the party towards socialism is the base product.

In the first meeting of the economic production department held at the party's central office Parisdanda on Sunday, he said, 'If we are going towards the journey of socialism, the main basis of it is production. Socialism is not possible without the entire party focusing on production.'

Admitting that the decision of the Hetauda Convention on 'Not War, Product Union' could not be implemented, President Dahal said that the party will now campaign to connect directly with the people, return to the community and prioritize production.
