Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has addressed the workers while entering the party office of CPN-UML Morang.
Bhandari, who reached the party office on Tuesday, announced that the country's economic self-sufficiency and national interests are paramount and that she has reactivated in party activities. She informed that she renewed her party membership after retiring from the post of president and expressed her commitment to continue as an active member of the party.
On this occasion, Bhandari placed garlands on the salik of Madan-Ashrit in the grounds of the party office. He was welcomed at the party office by central member Ramlal Sah, Morang president Azbar Rai, district vice president Sagar Thapa, secretary Somraj Thapa and other leaders.
Bhandari supporters seem to have a strong grip on UML Morang District Committee. But party's Koshi state in-charge Sherdhan Rai and state president Ghanshyam Khatiwada did not attend the event. Khatiwada said, 'They do not have any formal information about Bhandari coming to the party office.'
Since then, KP Oli supporters had issued an order to the leaders and workers not to go there regarding Bhandari going to the party office. But the district committee asked to participate in the reception of Bhandari. MML Metropolitan Incharge Parashuram Basnet said that there was no special program and instructed not to participate.
Bhandari's move has brought new political activism in CPN-UML and more movement in party equations.
