Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Satish Kumar Singh has said that only after federalism came, the development in the villages of Madhesh has picked up speed. He said this while inaugurating the bridge built on the Bihul River to connect the residents of Bode Barsain Municipality and Balan Bihul Rural Municipality of Saptari on Friday.

"Going anywhere in the villages of Madhesh, you can see that the road network has been built over the past seven years," he said, "Before that, there was only a problem with motoring in the villages here."

However, he says that the development here is still not as expected. "Due to the federal government's different view of Madhesh, they don't give budget based on needs," he said, "due to lack of budget, it has not been able to work as expected."
