Bagmati Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama has resigned. Lama announced his resignation at a press conference on Sunday.

He said that even though he still remains the chief minister in terms of the constitution, after the discussion within the party, he resigned to establish the political method, methodology and recognition and at the request of party chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Chief Minister Lama gave brief information about the work of 374 days after taking office . Lama, who was appointed on 8th July 2081, took the oath of office and confidentiality on the 9th the next day.

Lama was removed as the leader of the parliamentary party a few days ago after registering a no-confidence motion under the leadership of Congress Bagmati Province President Indra Bahadur Baniyan. After losing the status of the leader of the party, the pressure on Lama to step down as Chief Minister increased.

Now the way to form a new government in Bagmati will be opened under the leadership of Indra Bahadur Baniyan, the leader of Congress State Parliamentary Party.
