The god of rain and season, Rato Machhindranath, was shifted from Bungmati to Tabaha (Machhindrabahal) in Patan on Wednesday. According to tradition, Machhindranath is kept for six months in Patan and six months in Bungmati. After completing the puja at a special site decided by the Guthi leaders, the Guru's paltan saluted and then the priests, in the presence of security personnel and local devotees, carried Machhindranath on a khat with musical instruments and brought him to Patan.
