Bhumey dance is organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of Bhumey festival, the main festival of Magar community. Tourism Minister Badri Prasad Pandey and other guests were present at the Bhumey dance in Tundikhel.
असार संक्रान्तिका दिन भूमिलाई देउताका रूपमा पूजाआजा गर्दै भूमे पर्व मनाउने प्रचलन छ । भूमिबाट आपत विपत आई नलागोस् भनेर पूजाआजा गरिने धार्मिक विश्वास छ । मन्त्री पाण्डेले भूमे पर्व केवल सांस्कृतिक परम्परा नभई वैज्ञानिक आधार भएको पर्व भएको बताएका छन् । आयोजक भूमे पर्व संरक्षण नेपालका उपाध्यक्ष हर्कबहादुर घर्तीले प्रकृति (भूमि)लाई सम्मान गर्न यो पर्व मनाउँदै आएको बताए ।
भूमे पर्व पहिले मुख्य रूपमा रुकुम, रोल्पा र बागलुङमा मनाइए पनि अहिले बसाइँसराइ र रोजगारीका कारण देश–विदेशमा छरिएका मगर समुदायले पनि मनाउन थालेका छन् । यो पर्व उपत्यकामा बसोबास गरिरहेका मगर समुदायका लागि टुँडिखेलमा तीन दिनसम्म आयोजना भइरहेको छ । यसै अवसरमा लुम्बिनी प्रदेश सरकारले दाङ, रोल्पा, रुकुमपूर्व र प्यूठान जिल्लाका मगर समुदायलाई सार्वजनिक बिदा दिएको छ ।
