The activity of provoking neighboring countries should be stopped immediately

It is natural and welcome for the youth and social organizations of Nepal to try to contribute to building the future of the country. However, when the activities touch on geopolitical sensitivities, it can upset the balance between freedom and national interest.

Recently, the logo named 'Student for a Free Tibet' seen on the website of an organization called Nepal has indirectly created such a risk. This has the potential to attract the attention of China, with whom Nepal has a China policy that has been maintained for decades.

We need to remind the founder of Nepal, Sudan Gurung, that the presence of this kind of symbol or logo can be a challenge to Nepal-China relations and multi-faceted diplomatic balance. Even if the organization does not show it as an official endorsement, the gesture is considered significant from a foreign perspective.

Nepal's geo-political situation is relatively sensitive. Nepal's policies, embassies, economic cooperation and bilateral relations, located on the border between India and China, should be taken care of at every step. In such a situation, it is imperative that NGOs or youth organizations balance their campaigns with the country's national security and diplomatic interests.

Therefore, we Nepal must immediately remove the said logo from the website and publicly clarify our position. It will not only maintain the independence of the institution, but also show a sensitive approach to Nepal's multilateral diplomacy and one-China policy. The importance of social reform, youth empowerment and democratic movements cannot be underestimated. However, it should not challenge national interest, diplomatic sensitivity and geopolitical stability. A balance of freedom and responsibility is essential at this time.

Even though Nepal's non-governmental organizations stick to their mission, it is important to understand the country's geopolitical and diplomatic context with full awareness and responsibility.
