The demands of Gen-Ji should not be shelved

How long do we have to watch the same person become the Prime Minister? Let's not try and pressure them from the Gen-G bottom line of a directly elected Prime Minister.

Let's not take Zen-ji's movement and Qurbani for granted. Congress and UML are not ready for directly elected Prime Minister. This is simply wrong.

A party that cannot listen to the voices of the youth cannot be a party of the youth. UML and Congress also need transformation. It was not always the old leader who took over the reins of the country. Now the youth had to be promoted.

How long do we have to see the same person become the prime minister? Let's not try and pressure them from the Gen-G bottom line of a directly elected Prime Minister. The purpose of the movement, if the demands are not met, the movement will have no meaning. Don't let the sacrifice of 74 people go to waste. It doesn't matter who wins and who loses.

The one who wins the people becomes the prime minister. A system in which the same person becomes prime minister again and again and the person the people want cannot be the prime minister cannot be a democratic system. This practice needs to end. A system ruled by a leader chanting the name of democracy cannot be considered a democracy. A system in which the people rule over the people is called democracy, but the sad thing is that in Nepal it is the opposite.  The interim government formed on the strength of the

movement should be able to listen to the demands of the people. The prime minister we elected is ours, how can the prime minister we did not vote for be ours? We have seen the prime minister chosen by the party leader for 35 years, we have also seen their actions.

Now we will choose our prime minister. Can't think of an alternative to that. Only when the people get the opportunity to elect the Prime Minister, then the Prime Minister becomes accountable to the people. Don't ignore the demands that Jen-Ji protested. The demands of Gen-Ji should not be shelved. - Purushottam Ghimire, Jorpati, Kathmandu
