The scene seen at Maitighar Mandal yesterday was not just an ordinary demonstration, it was also a warning for the future of the nation.

Holding placards in their hands, showing displeasure and courage on their faces, the young people raised their voices by adding the demand to end corruption and maintain transparency in the assets of political families, as well as to ensure digital freedom by removing restrictions on social media.

These are not only demands, every slogan raised by the youth, every step is a vision of the future - a sign of the need for transparency, freedom and justice in the nation.

For these demands and ideals, they stood on the streets and raised their voices. This is why this demonstration is not just a protest, it has become a rebellion of the youth.

The demands seen in the performances of the youth of the Gen-G generation are not impossible dreams. Rather, these demands are deep aspirations of today's Nepalese society. They have given a clear message—the old-style politics, nepotism and contractualism are no longer sustainable. They have rejected the structure of sending millions of young people of working age abroad and not giving them opportunities within the country.

It is not easy for the government to understand the youth. Because they stand not only on the street, but also in the digital world. Ideas, grievances and demands raised on Facebook, X or Tik Tok eventually reach the streets, parliaments and polling booths. Blocking

social media or trying to suppress voices will not provide a solution. On the contrary, it will strengthen the discontent and make the movement in certain areas a national movement.

The demands raised today should not be taken lightly. Scrutiny and transparency against corruption are now the minimum expectations of citizens. Digital freedom is not a luxury, but a basic right of citizens. The proposal for direct democracy is a challenge to the old party-centric practice. In education, health and employment

Investment is an investment in the country's future, the government has no excuse to ignore it. If the government still does not take the voices of the Gen-G generation seriously, this movement could become not only discontent, but the seeds of national change. History has proven that no government survives by suppressing the voice of youth.  – Santosh Simkhada, Tokyo, Japan
