Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's normalization of this incident as 'a normal car hit' is not only a sign of political security, but a step that shows a complete lack of human sensibility.

Koshi Pradesh Minister Ram Bahadur Magar's vehicle hit a girl at the zebra crossing. The girl was hit by the minister's car in Harsiddhini of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
The girl was injured but the vehicle did not stop. On the contrary, he ran away from the accident site and watching the video of it on social media and news was a very painful experience. Such behavior of a person sitting at the highest level of the state is very shameful and disturbing.
The vehicle may not have deliberately tried to hit, but slowing down after reaching the zebra crossing, being careful when a child is walking on the side of the road, these are the 'basic' traffic rules. An accident that shouldn't have happened.
But, not only the subsequent behavior, but also the reaction of the political leadership involved in it raises serious questions.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's generalization of this incident as 'normally touched by a vehicle' is not only a sign of political security, but a step that shows a complete lack of human sensibility. Leadership is not just about finding a way to save your workers, it is about presenting human values and examples to the society.
Prime Minister, you are the guardian of the country. Guardianship is not only the guardian of the law, but also being sensitive to every citizen – especially children, ensuring assistance to victims and accepting responsibility.
If the leader is not able to take such a small humanitarian step, the situation of impunity and power-protected crime in a democratic state is sure to increase. The laws of Nepal should apply equally to all.
People in public office should take more responsibility. The style of running away after hitting the girl child, considering it normal and hiding the crime under the shadow of power cannot be justified under any circumstances.
Before the security of power, human sensibilities, compliance with the law and parental responsibility should be considered paramount.
The injured girl on the street, the victim's family and the entire civil society are like your children. Finally, Koshi Minister Ram Bahadur Magar must be brought to justice. Law should be equal for all regardless of position. – Santosh Simkhada, Tokyo, Japan
This incident has also confirmed how irresponsible our country's ministers have been. What to say to our provincial minister who ran away after hitting an 11-year-old girl who was about to cross the road from the zebra crossing? What can the country and the people expect from such ministers?
The saddest thing is that the police did not arrest the minister who had a criminal mentality even though there was a sound all around that the minister's car had hit him. What can be done after becoming a minister? Is the minister above the law? A person who commits such a heinous crime should not be exempted just because he is a minister. – Purushottam Ghimire, Jorpati, Kathmandu
