In the month of July of the current financial year, apples worth 1.5 billion 44 lakh rupees have been imported. The data shows that 69 percent came from China and 31 percent came from India. Apples worth 8.45 and 10.56 billion rupees were imported in the financial years 080/81 and 081/82 respectively, of which China accounted for 90 and 92 percent and India for 10 and 8 percent.

This picture has depressed all those who love the agricultural sector of Nepal . While foreign apples are being imported in an uncontrolled manner, local fruits have been neglected. The experts in the related field have a question, in terms of nutrition, are the apples imported by waxing, using chemicals, health-enhancing or the juicy pears that grow in places like Ferping? campaign, the import of foreign apples will be replaced and the producers will be encouraged. While talking about apples, apart from Madhesh province, there is quality organic apple production in various districts of other 6 provinces, but the farmers have not been encouraged due to the government's lack of attention to quality management and transportation. Farmers in remote districts barely get 50 rupees per kg of apples, while they have to pay 120 rupees per kg for air transportation from 5 districts of Karnali zone to Surkhet. Producers are harassed by local taxes, police, gangster terror when they bring it from the road.
