With the passage of Bill-2082 by the House of Representatives on Friday, some hope has been raised.

According to the details of the Land Problem Solution Commission so far, for the work of managing the landless and unorganized residents, agreements have been made with 751 local levels across the country and only some of the local levels have proceeded with the work.

208 local levels have signed an agreement with the Commission, but it is sad to see that the tax collection work has not progressed so far.

Land rights movement has been going on in Nepal for decades. The Constitution of Nepal has also guaranteed landless Dalits as a fundamental right to be given land once. A

commission has also been formed. At such an important time, the process of managing the landless should be carried out as soon as possible in the local levels where the process has not been carried out and the attention of all stakeholders and others should be paid to it.  – Kamala Gautam, Damak, Jhapa
