It is clear that within two decades of the establishment of the republic in Nepal, politics has become a business rather than a service. The leaders have lost the change brought by the blood and sweat of the people in their own selfishness and arrogance. Corruption, rigging and instability have become the pillars of Nepali politics. What do people expect in such a situation?

On the other hand, with the expansion of technology, social networks have become mandatory in the lives of ordinary people. It has given a voice to the voiceless, brought the distant ones closer and has been able to give a new perspective to the society . However, its wrong use has also increased the negative impact. Especially political party leaders are making social media a medium for personal propaganda, defamation and misinformation. This is making the general public frustrated and anxious.

Traditional media such as newspapers, radio, and television are still bound by professional discipline. However, since social networks are not bound by any bonds, the possibility of their misuse is high. Therefore, it is necessary to use social media not only for commercial purposes, but also for social responsibility.

We need both determined leadership and responsible communication for democracy, development and good governance. If the political leadership does not give up self-interest and self-interest and if the use of social media is not done in the right direction, the country is sure to be stuck in transition for a long time.
