Give justice to all the landless, including Bankaria

What you should know

While reading 'Voice of Landless Bankaria' published on July 28 in Kantipur, it saddened me that even small industries for earning a living could not be registered under their own name.

The government has not been able to give the Bankarias, who are even listed as an endangered tribal tribe, the feeling that the land belongs to them. The women there want to earn a living by doing business, but they are facing problems due to lack of parts in their name. Such a problem exists in all landless communities.

Currently the Land Problem Solution Commission is active across the country. The main responsibility of the Commission is to facilitate landless Dalits, squatters and unorganized residents in getting land. The commission is carrying out the work in cooperation with the local government. In particular, in the practice of federalism, the first responsibility for the management of the landless should be the local government.

There is a great hope that millions of landless and unorganized families will get land in their names through the land registration campaign launched by the commission. Some have even started getting land ownership certificates. The landless have been struggling for years to get a piece of land. Even the landless who have submitted an application to the Land Commission showing the legal complexity, have not been able to get Lalpurja.

The bill to amend the Land Act is under discussion in the parliamentary committee. Various controversies have surfaced. There are arguments for and against. However, there is growing hope that the law will be on their side and that the problems that have been going on for years will be solved. Therefore, we all hope that the bill submitted to the parliament will come easily so that land can be registered for the landless. Remove the legal hurdles of those who have submitted applications but have not been able to get Lalpurja. Let there be justice for all the landless including Bankaria.
