Planting could not be done in Terai and different parts of the country due to drought
What you should know
Now climate change is affecting the world. Nepal is also not untouched by this. Planting has not been possible in Terai and different parts of the country due to drought for several days.
Although Nepal is said to be a country where water, land, forests, herbs and animals are abundant, the country's economy has been widely affected due to its lack of proper utilization. Although it is said to plant mano in June and grow muri in November, due to bad weather and bad weather, farmers have not been able to plant rice and still many fields and fields are barren.
Irrigation has been done in some parts of the country, but still planting is not possible due to the lack of water in the plains, tar between the mountains and valleys, gorges and valleys. Due to the drought, there is a lack of irrigation from the hills to the plains. Even though there are plenty of rivers, there is a compulsion to plant crops during the rainy season due to the disorder. Even the month of July has come to an end, but due to the dry weather, especially the farmers of Terai are suffering.
On one side, abundant rivers are flowing continuously, while on the other side, the nearby tar and fields are barren. This is the sad part. Nepal is an agricultural country and earlier it was also known as a mine of productive land but now due to migration, unemployment, lack of modern agricultural system and training, lack of long-term thinking in government policy, pocket schemes etc., the agricultural sector is lagging behind.
According to the suggestion of the experts, it can be a cheap way to wet the ground through the drip system by bringing water from the rivers and ponds below the tar and ponds using gravity. It does not require a pump. This is possible in most places in Nepal. Similarly, under the solar pump irrigation system, the technology of drawing water using solar energy can be used in places where electricity does not reach. Another option is to irrigate fields by laying plastic pipes from river banks. Similarly, ponds can be built to collect rainwater and can be used later when needed.
