The news that a law is being introduced to give amnesty to the criminals of corruption, rape, murder and human trafficking has also been announced. Not only me, this news must have shocked many.
We have laws but the law enforcement agencies are lax. Public confidence in the courts has decreased. Many developments like the Alam and Ranjan Koirala cases are making comments about the court. In the midst of many discussions about people from political backgrounds becoming judges and political maneuvering even in the courts, the government is preparing to bring amnesty to those involved in heinous crimes under the guise of political will.
It is certain that this law will support the rampant gangsterism in politics, the politics of power, the criminalization of politics and the bigbigiy of gangsters. Law is always envisaging Ram Rajya. A crime-free society, full human rights, equality and the foundations of harmony and tolerance are built under the guise of law. Corruption is a social crime, especially in political patronage, crimes such as corruption have raised their heads. Rape is a heinous crime against women, murder and human trafficking are horrific crimes against humanity. The court is a body which is always believed to be impartial and independent. Especially the last hope and trust of the common man is the court.
The law that the government is bringing to grant amnesty to the criminals of corruption, rape, murder and human trafficking is a vertical interference on the legal scope of the court. It is a threat to the public. If this law is approved, the society will definitely be more unstable.
