In the contemporary political scenario of Nepal, former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has again come into the limelight. Bhandari, known as a confidant and staunch supporter of CPN (UML) leader, vice president, KP Sharma Oli, has now come to the point where her party membership is being questioned.

Bhandari's supporters want to see him back in a leading role, but the power center of UML, especially Oli's circle, does not seem willing to allow him an easy entry. Looking at the dynamics within the party, Bhandari's desire to play Singouri with Oli may seem only emotional, from the point of view of political reality, there is also a danger of it becoming a kind of suicidal risk. Oli is adept at his organizational skills, tactful speech, and the style of attacking opponents one by one. He has made leaders like Jhalnath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Ramkumari Jhankri and Ghanshyam Bhusal, Bhim Rawal inactive. Reviving the UML and energizing the workers and making it the main competitor for power is also his biggest success.

However, under Oli's leadership, the same problem has been repeated continuously - the desire to concentrate power, the tendency to tolerate criticism and the practice of creating a circle of greedy people around him. Not being strict against corruption, covering up the irregularities of those close to him, and pushing colleagues into the shadows have become Oli's character weaknesses. Oli is still powerful within the party. His speeches attract workers, his ability to run an organization has made UML competitive. However, his unbridled speech, vindictive thinking and the tendency to enjoy himself in a limited circle have raised serious questions about the sustainability of his leadership. Bhandari's story conveys a powerful message—in politics, not just close connections, but realism of ideas, values and opportunities secure long-term respect. Being under the illusion of playing Singouri with Oli can be a suicidal option in today's real politics.
