As much as there is talk about former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, who is about to return to active politics, there is no mention of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, who has returned to active politics. Even though no noise is heard outside, inside the CPN Maoist center, he is seen burning like a fire of chaff.

The way he was brought into the party against the wishes of other leaders except Maoist Center President Pushpa Kamal Dahal, seems to have led to more harm than good to the party. After Dahal inducted Pun as his successor in the party, the discontent among the top leaders of the party is increasing. Dissatisfaction had started to grow among Maoists even before he returned to politics. Disputes created within any political party are resolved by taking them to the congress of that party, but the eighth congress of the Maoist Center instead of resolving the disputes that arose in the party at that time left them more controversial.

Even long after the convention was over, there was a situation in which more disputes arose in the party due to not being able to elect other office bearers except the chairman. Dahal appointed Dev Gurung as General Secretary because of the tug-of-war between Janardhan Sharma and Varshman Pun as General Secretary. After that, the infighting within the party took on an even fiercer form, although it was rarely seen outside. Recently, it is understood that the Maoists have reached a state of disintegration after the former vice president was brought into the party with the responsibility of vice president. Deputy Secretary General Janardhan Sharma and Varshaman, who were in internal competition for the post of General Secretary during the convention, have now come to stand in the same position again. It is understood that Netra Vikram Chand, who was stuck in the name of party unity, has also returned. On the other hand, Dahal's confidant and senior vice president of the party, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has also reached his opponent's level at this time.  Shrestha, who is ranked second in the

party, and President Dahal have started to see a tug-of-war in recent days. The latest example of that is Shrestha's meeting with former President Bhandari without informing Dahal, and Shrestha's general response to Dahal's concern about the meeting was that he forgot to inform.
