Year after year, the loss of lives of innocent civilians has become like a normal fate for us. In fact, even in the 21st century, it is a great irony and a shame for us that the people have to live on Tuin and have to die prematurely by drinking the same Tuin.

It has been years since the government promised to replace Tuin and build suspension bridge, but it has not been implemented effectively. The then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced the displacement of Tuin within two years many times in 2072. However, even after a decade, the residents of the northern areas of the marginal districts like Darchula are forced to do business and travel from Tuin.

Such incidents make it clear how irresponsible the political leadership is towards the people in our country. As long as the government and leaders do not prioritize the lives of the people, the country cannot take the path of real development. It is the primary responsibility of the state to protect the lives of the people and make them feel safe. The slowness and neglect in this has not only led to disappointment among the people, but has also increased hatred and mistrust towards the leadership.
