Samran Dhakal, the 10-year-old son of social worker Shankar Dhakal, a resident of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality-5, Bagua, is now in crisis. A serious and complicated disease has attacked both his kidneys.
He is undergoing continuous treatment at Kanti Children's Hospital, Kathmandu, but doctors have now said that kidney transplant is the only way to save his life. This complex treatment process is very expensive and the Dhakal family, who have been leading their lives in a normal way, are unable to bear this financial burden.
Dear Sir, Samran is not just a child, he is the hope, dream and future of a family. He is the laughter that colors the hearts of his parents. He is that little soul, who dreams of playing with his friends in school, studying and growing up to serve his country. But today, his gentle heart and innocent smile are being overshadowed by illness. As a parent I would like to ask you this question – If Samar was your own son, would you not do everything possible to save his life? See Samra as your own child and take a step to bring hope back into her life.
Government of Nepal is our guardian. Just as a parent gives every possible support to his children in times of crisis, the government should also take the responsibility of protecting the lives of its citizens. Even those with weak economic status have the right to live. Innocent children like Samar should not have to lose their lives just because of their family's financial situation.
