Exactly the same character has been shown by the current Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar, which in itself is shameful, indecent and immoral. After the massive corruption in the name of visit visa came out, the final needle was pointed towards the Home Minister. The authority is currently taking statements from 4 people including the head of the immigration office. It was reasonable and ethical to step down from the post of Home Minister until the investigation is completed so that the investigation against the department and staff under him would not be affected.
The meeting of Congress office bearers held on Monday morning has determined that the Home Minister is innocent in this incident. The Home Minister himself has said that he is innocent and if anyone proves guilty, he will retire not only from the ministerial post but also from politics forever. However, the question arises - is it a matter for the Congress meeting to decide whether the Home Minister is not guilty? Should the public believe that the accused person himself is innocent?
