Standing on the political stage of Rolpa, Dr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Hearing the news that Baburam Bhattarai was described as 'unintelligent' was not only surprising but also deeply painful.

Hearing such insulting comments from a leader who gives speeches about ideals and morals towards his old colleagues and companions of the people's war is a sign of further decline in Nepali politics. If Dahal had lost his past in the mirror before giving such a speech, perhaps the definition of intelligence would have changed for him!

Baburam is not a man bathed in milk, he certainly has many faults. Recently, it is difficult to understand his politics, but the truth is that despite this, Baburam was the ideological backbone of the revolution. From drawing the map of the Maoist movement to writing political documents, deciding the economic and political approach and getting international diplomatic recognition, it was the product of Baburam's wisdom. Dahal took to the field with gusto, it's true. But Baburam had the mind to transform that passion into ideas and policies. Irony! Isn't it political bankruptcy to call that leadership 'intelligent' today?

Baburam loved the soil of Gorkha region-2 by giving policy and not slogans. He drew up long-term infrastructure plans like Budhigandaki hydropower project, Madhyapahari Lokmarg, road expansion of Kathmandu. When he was prime minister, he chose a simple lifestyle, cut government spending, and practiced long-term impact, not cheap popularity. But it is natural that Dahal, who enjoys rhetoric, finds such things difficult. Because his politics is a cultivation of gossip, not results.

Baburam handed over Gorkha region-2 to Dahal, shared the love of the people, won the election. But what did Dahal give to the Gorkhas in return? Where did the dream of Manorel disappear? What swamp did Budhigandaki fall into? What has been achieved in terms of basic issues like education, health and employment? Even today, Baburam goes from village to village, listens to the pain of the people, and lays the foundation of the plan. Dahal, on the other hand, spends the day in the party office having a populist wedding and enjoying himself in the expensive terrace hotel at night. Baburam lives in thought, appears in plan. Dahal gets lost in the hustle and bustle. History is not silent. Now the Gorkhali people have started demanding an account of Dahal's behavior and not just his speech. They are able to recognize the address of 'Gafadi'. Politics is judged by results, not gossip.
