Lamichhane, the president of RSWP and the then managing director of Gorkha Media Network, was arrested in Kathmandu on Friday and sent to Bhairahawa to be sent to prison. He returned to the leadership of the party from Chait 18th while the various cases against him were pending in the court. With his return to the leadership, there was a feeling of growing dissatisfaction within the party.

Last Monday, Lamichhane expressed his desire to reform the party's structure in a meeting of the party's central committee held at the party's central office, Vanasthali. He had indicated that the party would not only be weakened but the party itself would be weakened if he entered the party with whatever purpose he wanted, and given the responsibility according to his desire. It is understood that Wagle has been irritated since he gave the executive responsibility of the party's operation to Aryal instead of Swarnim Wagle, another vice president of the party, mainly after being under the control of the police. However, at that time, Wagle said that Aryal was given the responsibility of acting with everyone's consent.

Wagle, who has been in politics for a long time in the Nepali Congress and was also the vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission from the Congress's quota, left the party in 2079 and joined the RSVP in 2079 saying that he was insulted by the Congress and was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Tanahun-1 in the by-elections held in 2080. After that, he was working in the RSVP. Wagle was planning to split the RSVP and return to the Congress. At this time, Lamichhane changed the structure of the party by reforming it, and a new controversy arose in the RSVP. With the arrest of Lamichhane on Friday, there is an indication that the 'new dispute' of the RSVP will be resolved soon.
