Demonstration of royalism has certainly taught the leader a true lesson and if the former king Gyanendra Shah also takes to the streets in this way for the restoration of the monarchy, it will only be an exercise in symbolic violence.
His current move is sure to suppress the voice of the people and deny the rights of most sections of the society. Symbolic violence is the process by which a group presents its cultural and ideological beliefs as normative norms. As a result, the voice of the weaker sections of the society will be suppressed and it will be difficult to protect democratic rights and justice.
The actions of our Netajis have not been able to guide the future of the country and the democratic system in the true sense. The principles of political leadership should inculcate devotion to the weaker sections of the society, people's rights and democratic values. But the problems are increasing because the leadership cannot stand for common social interests and equal opportunities. It is necessary to make the leader's policy based on the concept of social justice and equal rights, not based on selfishness and party opportunism.
Although we know that despite the differences between the political parties, the unity among them has helped to preserve the democratic system. The stability of Nepal's democracy is not only the end of monarchy, but also a symbol of social justice and equal opportunities. Keeping this objective and important goal in mind, I request the leaders to focus immediately on strengthening the social structure and democratic institutions. Our future is also possible only in a democratic and just society. Active and responsible leadership of the political party will be important in building this society.
