Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the amendment of the Constitution is not a matter of jest, so it cannot be amended on a whim. He reiterated this while addressing the Karnali State Parliament on Friday.

Even before this, he repeatedly said that the constitution cannot be amended until 2087. Congress leaders have also been expressing intense dissatisfaction over this.
During the formation of this coalition government, UML-Congress had agreed on 7 points and the first point was to amend the constitution to remove the shortcomings in the constitution.
The point is raised in the answer to the question why the current alliance. But seeing that Oli deviated from point number 1, one can guess that his inner motive is different.
In fact, the two biggest parties of the country, Congress and UML, should self-criticize in front of the people and unite all the parties and start a thorough discussion to remove the shortcomings seen in the 9 years of use of the constitution. Only doing this will benefit the country and the people.
