Our company is exporting various goods manufactured in India to Nepal and we are well acquainted with the laws of Nepal.
Last year, the Nepal Customs Department had issued a notification that all products imported into Nepal should include details of the importer along with the EXIM code. All such labels are placed on our exports. It's a nice try too. This will boost Nepal's tax system and help reduce unauthorized imports. However, while visiting Nepali markets, I found that most of the imported products did not have such labels, which the department has made mandatory. Printing of such labels adds an additional cost burden to the customer. Because, we have to make a special label and send it to the Nepali market. My question is why is there no action for products that are not labeled as such?
