Although it may seem normal, the incident that happened at Kalinga University in Odisha is not normal. If the students who went to India to study from Nepal die due to 'torture', who will take responsibility for it?
MPs raised their voices on this matter, but the government remained silent. This is simply wrong. We are also citizens of a sovereign country, we are not going to tolerate if someone confiscates us by force. You can't bully the weak just because you have power. Our nation may be small, we may be citizens of a poor country, but our dignity is not less. If we respect Indian citizens, they should respect us. It is reprehensible to discourage a student from attending an institution like a college.
The university has expelled the protesting student from the college. Not only that, the news has come out that even when the students appealed to the university time and time again, there was no hearing. It is completely wrong for the college administration to threaten that the annual expenditure of our college is as much as the budget of your country. Let's not spoil the brotherly relationship between the two countries.
Let's move forward together. Let's punish the guilty to the extent. Let's not throw a knife in the eye by getting expelled from the college. Government of India should think carefully about this matter. If people with the wrong mindset are given an exemption for discouraging Nepali students, it is not certain that they will not have wrong intentions with Indian students tomorrow.
