I was very saddened to read the news published in Kantipur on January 21, titled '5 arrested along with UML leaders in the co-operative fraud of Maghdi' and 'Swargadwari Guthipidit Lalpurja Maggai Maitigharma'.

From the eastern Koshi region to the western regions, one has to read and listen to the news of co-operative fraud every day. Leaders and activists of the ruling party UML seem to have been arrested in most of the scams. What is the reason why the leaders and workers of UML are embezzling the savings money collected by ordinary poor people? For example, the wife of Rishikesh Pokharel of Koshi province, the Jesus head Rajkumar Thapa of Myagdi, the mayor of Baglung Dhorpatan municipality, Dev Kumar Nepali, etc. have been involved in the cooperative fraud case. On the other hand, Congress Vice President Dhanraj Gurung and his wife were caught in the case of co-operative fund fraud, but they were stopped without taking any action. Is it okay to do anything under the guise of power? However, in the co-operative fraud case, Ravi Lamichhane and other people are also involved in the investigation. However, the fact that there are such actions by the leaders-activists of the ruling party does not raise the question of what is happening in the country? How is governance and prosperity in the country? You do not know when the day will come when you will look out from the eye windows of Baluwatar and Singhadbar palaces.
