News that 1,558 families in Nuwakot and 718 families in Rasuwa have been forced to plow their own land for years was published in Kantipur on Sunday. The reality is that we are still plowing the same land.
Our family livelihood is running from this land. We struggled a lot to get spare parts. In the year 2067, we took some spare parts of the remaining parts. We submitted an application in 2066 to get the rest of the land as well, but the land office kept it in Tameli. The application of Birta land, which has been pending for 15/16 years, has not progressed yet. Due to the Birta problem, we farmers have suffered a lot of injustice. The mortgage is not enforceable, nor can it be sold. Nowadays, the problem is that the agents of Birtawala come and try to extort money. There is a request for the attention of the Nepal government to solve this problem as much as possible.

We are very happy about the news published in Kantipur about the Birta problem that is always bothering us. In Rasuwa, our ancestors shed blood and sweat and made Bhir, Pakha, Pakhera rich in minerals. It has been a great injustice to us when the inheritance of the land that was cultivated by the subsequent children continues to this day. We need land redistribution, we need justice. We have suffered, let's not let the day come when our new generation also has to protest and suffer for this same land. Let the government pay special attention and solve the problems of the farmers. Let the attention of the government be drawn to the published news.

Thank you for publishing the story of the farmers of Rasuwa in Kantipur. More than 1000 farmers of Kalika, Uttar Gaya and Naukunda Rural Municipality have been suffering from land related problems for years. We don't know the Birtawals, we haven't even seen them yet. However, it is heard that they have made red parts of the land for which we shed blood and sweat. We have been struggling for 20 years to get the land. More than a hundred times we ran into Singha Darbar. Whether the problem will be solved by the local government is not even that. In 2016, even though the law on the abolition of birta was passed, in practice, the Kisanmara system has not yet been removed. Let the state give us justice.
