In Kantipur, Sneha Jha's article on 2nd January titled 'Respect use of toilets' has raised a serious debate about toilet use and cleanliness. Proper use of toilets contributes greatly to personal health, community sanitation and environmental protection.

It is important to follow the correct method of using the toilet, which helps to prevent health problems. After using the toilet, clean, flush and wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. Which reduces the risk of cholera, diarrhea, typhoid and other waterborne diseases.

Do not throw paper, plastic or other unnecessary objects in the toilet as it can cause problems such as clogging of the pipes or damage to the system. To keep the toilet clean and orderly, it should be cleaned regularly and the damaged parts should be repaired on time.

Public awareness programs should be conducted at the community level to make everyone understand the importance of toilet use. It is important to make toilets accessible by making proper arrangements for sanitation in schools, offices and public places. Also, in remote areas where water is scarce, composting toilets or 'ecofriendly' systems can be used.

Proper use of toilets not only has a positive effect on health, but also contributes greatly to environmental protection. It protects land and water resources from pollution and sets an example of cleanliness and civility in the community. Therefore, it is everyone's responsibility to use the toilet properly and to maintain and clean it regularly. Just as the cleaning of the mouth and anus is necessary, so is the cleaning of the kitchen and toilet.
