Before the 2079 elections, Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA), used to say - Prachanda will contest from the region from which he will fight. Without saying anything, he chased Prachanda from Chitwan and reached Gorkha holding Baburam Bhattarai's hand and with his help, Prachanda won the election.

With Prachanda becoming the Prime Minister after winning the election, Ravi Prachanda's hostility before the election turned into harmony for power, while Baburam's broken relationship with Prachanda was once again brought to the fore. Lamichhane was accused of misappropriating the co-operative's funds while holding the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister in the Prachanda-led government. 

At that time, UML president KP Sharma Oli and Prachanda were united in Ravi's favor and said that he was innocent due to the fact that UML, Maoist and Raswapa were in power alliance. Prachanda, while standing on the rostrum of Parliament, presented the list of Ravi's innocence.

Oli, who came to Ravi's defense in Prachanda's style at that time, has become Ravi's main enemy today, while Prachanda has been seen as Ravi's guardian. The style of Oli who openly advocated for Ravi then and now openly criticizes him is unique.

If the support of a person or his leadership party is indispensable to preserve power, it is sad to see a political culture that leaves no stone unturned to bathe such people with milk. When Ravi was arrested on November 2nd in the case of misappropriation of funds received by the Gorkha media network through the cooperative, then Oli and Prachanda's position was clearly seen in Ravi's favor.

Prachanda Ravi, who did not speak much in the initial days of Ravi's arrest, has started raising his voice in his favor as he is the leader of his own party. Not only Prachanda but any leader or worker of Maoist at any level participates in any program, they talk loudly about Ravi. They spend a lot of time spreading negative illusions about the government as much as possible among the people that the government has done injustice to Ravi.

Why is the Maoist standing like a pillar on Ravi's side? The only reason for this could be that the Congress-UML, which was in alliance with the Maoists in the previous elections in 2084, closed that door, and the support of the RSVP became his only option. Looking at this development, it seems that there may be a party unity between the Maoists and the RSVP by the next election, even if it is not that much, an electoral alliance is definitely possible.
