Decentralization is in name only. No body thinks how to provide facilities to the people. The tradition of gathering a crowd in front of their base to see Ramita has not changed. Why has federalism been slow?
That's the way of thinking. Rastra Bank is selling gold and silver coins targeted for Tihar from only one place for all Kathmandu residents. It has been mentioned that gold and silver coins can be bought from Nepal Rashtra Bank, Taksar Sub-branch under Currency Management Department, Babarmahal and provincial offices.
Just like before
, if anyone can predict that there will be overcrowding during the sale of Tihar-targeted Asarfi and coins only from one designated place, it does not mean that the National Bank cannot do it. But the National Bank did not do anything else for the convenience of the buyer except issuing the notice of sale. Buyers were made to queue for hours. Even thinking about the impoverished idea that the Taksar department is distributed from one place for the pilgrims is disgusting.
This sales system could easily be decentralized. If the National Bank had given a little more time to start the sale from November 11, it could have arranged the sale through financial institutions including Bikas Bank, not only the private banks under its regulation. If the
is not in sufficient quantity, a fixed quantity could be given to all organizations. But if the person who needs it is standing in the sun for hours, then why bother for easy delivery? We the people are the same, we have to take it even if we suffer.
For a responsible body of the nation to treat the people like this is an extreme insult. In fact, this unwise, illiberal and monopolistic decision of the National Bank should be dismissed. It is not even possible to celebrate Tihar without these Asarfi or coins of Rashtra Bank. When will there be a change in the culture of our service providers? Let the National Bank think about this early next year.
