The seed of alternative politics planted a decade ago has overcome many challenges, struggles, obstacles and moments of disappointment in a short time and today has become a huge tree of immense public trust and has reached the position of leading the nation. This is not just the success of a political party - it is also the result of a journey that is realizing the hope, faith and common dream of change of millions of Nepalis who have been tormented by disappointment, distortion and old political culture.

At one time, many considered alternative politics an impossible dream. Talking about a new political culture in the face of established power, resources and structures was a challenge in itself. However, some determined youth saw politics not just as a means of gaining power - as a campaign for social change. They started a new political debate with honesty, transparency, accountability and good governance at the center. And, today, on the foundation of that campaign, the National Independent Party is holding its first historic general convention along with its fourth annual celebration.

Today, many fellow travelers of that campaign have reached the position of policy-making. The presence of capable, conscious and honest youth in the government and parliament makes one proud. It is a historic achievement in itself to see many friends who have struggled in the campaign for alternative politics in the leadership role of the country. It is also a matter of pride for me to be a witness and fellow traveler of that journey.

The credit for this achievement does not only go to the characters seen in the leadership today. We should not forget Ujwal Thapa to Prem Acharya, who played an important role in establishing the idea of alternative politics in Nepali society. The ideas they carried, the questions they raised and the path they showed have created the basis for today's change.

It is a joy to see faces like Birajbhakta Shrestha, Samiksha Baskota, Ranju Darshana, and Prakash Chandra Pariyar in the festive crowd of thousands of people carrying blue flags with bells. However, in that crowd, one wishes that other characters who played an important role in the alternative politics campaign, including Suryaraj Acharya and Kishore Thapa, could have been seen. Moreover, if Ujwal Thapa, the pioneer of alternative politics, were alive today and were observing this journey of change from afar, how inspiring that scene would have been!

However, the real power of alternative politics is not limited to just a few faces on stage. The sweat, time, sacrifice and faith of thousands of anonymous campaigners have been involved in bringing this campaign to this point. The countless characters who have been active in villages, tols, squares and streets with the dream of change without expecting any position, prestige or profit are the real foundation of this movement. I see myself as a common character in that crowd. The smiles seen on all of their faces today further strengthen the belief that change is possible.

It has been four years since the establishment of the National Independent Party. In this short period, the party has opened the door to a new possibility in Nepali politics. Now the first historic general convention has entered the phase of selecting a new leadership for the next five years. This is not just a process of selecting leadership - it is also an important opportunity to determine the future direction, culture and political character of the party.

It is believed that the representatives who have been involved in this journey of change from the beginning are aware and aware of the values, beliefs and objectives of the party. There is also an equal expectation that they will select a capable, honest and visionary leadership who will assimilate the conduct, principles and values of the RSP.

The next generation does not want to see politics as a factory for making and shaping leaders of the old tradition. This is a very positive change in the political consciousness of the people. And, the basis for building and shaping the country is like this.

Now change is no longer just a matter of speeches, slogans or agendas. This has transformed into a great responsibility towards the nation. Now a system must be established. Transparent and accountable governance must be established. A culture of honest leadership must be developed. A cultured practice must be created that makes politics a medium of service and accountability. Good governance, transparency, and accountability to citizens must be ensured at every level of the state.

I call the journey to achieve this goal the Blue Revolution. This is not the campaign of any individual, group, or party alone - it is the common dream of a civilized, cultured, honest, and prosperous Nepal. The journey of change continues with the fourth annual celebration of the National Independent Party, the Blue Revolution has now become a responsibility.
