Nepal's recent elections have not only paved the way for the formation of a new government, but have also sent a clear message of change in the country's political culture. Voters have given a strong mandate in favor of stability, good governance, and economic transformation. Now, the responsibility of translating this mandate into results through policy reforms, transparent governance, and rapid economic development has fallen on the shoulders of the National Independent Party.

This time, the people have given a clear mandate in favor of change. Citizens no longer want to see just political change - they also want to see real improvements in the style of governance, pace of development, and economic opportunities. The expectations of the Nepali people are clear - good governance should be established in the country, transparency and accountability should be strengthened, and the youth should not be forced to go abroad for employment. In addition, the people are confident that long-term development programs will be effectively implemented through a stable government for the next five years.

The time has now come to implement the commitments made throughout the country during the election campaign. It is expected that an accountable governance system should be built through fair investigations and legal action on irregularities committed during the tenure of previous governments, effective establishment of good governance, and administrative reforms. It will also be equally important to ensure transparent and effective administration by timely amending existing laws, if necessary.

It is now necessary to set clear priorities for Nepal's economic transformation. Sectors such as agriculture, tourism, hydropower and information technology can play a decisive role in Nepal's economic development. If long-term planning and effective implementation can be done by focusing on these sectors, job creation, export growth and overall economic expansion are possible.

From the perspective of the private sector, the current situation is promising. The private sector is excited about the expectation that the new government will prioritize the economic agenda. The private sector is fully prepared to work hand in hand with the government to expand investment, create jobs and increase economic activity. If an environment of trust, dialogue and cooperation can be created between the government and the private sector, Nepal's economic development can be given a new momentum.

Along with this, the government needs to adopt a policy to encourage honest and ethical business. If entrepreneurs who contribute to the country's economic development are to be respected and supported, the so-called 'middlemen' trend that distorts the market system must be discouraged. Sustainable economic development is not possible without creating a transparent and competitive business environment.

Nepal is truly a country full of potential. Senior leader of the National Independent Party, Balen Shah, said in a speech, ‘Why should we go to Switzerland to see natural beauty? There are similar wonderful destinations in Nepal. The only difference is in our thinking, policy and implementation. Nepal is a God-given country blessed with natural beauty, water resources, fertile land and favorable climate.’ As he said, the tourism sector can be expanded to the world level with the right policy and investment.

For this, expanding international and internal connectivity is very important. Development of air and road networks, construction of modern infrastructure and systematic urban planning are indispensable for the overall development of the country. Economic progress is not possible without infrastructure development.

Strong international relations are also a very important aspect in Nepal’s development journey. Nepal has always practiced an independent and balanced foreign policy. The next government needs to further strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries India and China and also advance relations based on trust and cooperation with other friendly countries in a balanced manner. A stable political environment, clear economic policies and a reliable governance system will play an important role in attracting international investment and strengthening Nepal’s international image.

Another positive aspect of this election is the presence of energetic, capable and intelligent MPs who have entered the parliament from the National Independent Party. Now the party should show the foresight to appoint the ‘right person in the right ministry’. Only a competent and capable leadership can transform public expectations into results.

However, challenges may also arise on the journey of reform. There is a possibility that some administrative tendencies that benefited from the past political structure may not get the expected support. However, strong political will, transparency and clear leadership can overcome such obstacles.

Today is not only a golden opportunity for the National Independent Party, but also an important test. If this mandate can be transformed into good governance, economic reform and inclusive development, it can become a new chapter for the political and economic future of Nepal.
