Let's keep children away from gadget addiction

What you should know

When our kids open their gadgets, they are not only running one screen at a time, they have 10/15 apps open at once. They are playing with their friends. They are talking to many people. By doing this, they are connecting not only with their classmates and relatives, but also with people and AI around the world.

After 2010, mobile phones came into everyone's hand and along with it came the means of playing, learning and entertainment. The world has become based on the phone, which has seriously affected his childhood development as well as mental health problems.

Between 2011 and 2019, reports of teenage suicide attempts, anxiety and depression have increased. We cannot ignore it. In many countries of the world, children under the age of 16 are banned from using social media, but in our country, the relevant authorities have not done anything like that.  School children are more affected by excessive use of

gadgets. As a result, teachers have become very difficult in teaching and learning. Children facing online bullying, negative feedback, online crime and mentally ill children are physically present at school but mentally their focus is elsewhere.

What should a teacher do in such a situation? A student who is mentally eager to learn can be taught but the teacher has a big challenge how to teach the child who plays games all night and attends school the next day sleepless.

Let's talk very intimately and openly with our children, don't allow children under 16 to open social media accounts and only let them use devices for a certain period of time to protect them from the effects of technology.

Let the children explore new scenic spots like: hiking, monasteries, parks, mosques, monasteries, churches, etc. Let's divert their attention to utilize the free time. In the same way, let's make arrangements to go to the houses of relatives and friends, play and have fun. Let's be an example ourselves by using technology only when there is work.

Let's do internet based homework only after completing all non-internet based homework. Let's emphasize on physical exercise and yoga and let's not forget about handing over responsibilities according to age. Let the

tool determine the forbidden zone. For example: Do not use gadgets in bedroom, kitchen, bathroom etc. Let's turn off the mobile phone one hour before going to sleep. Let's get kids' sleep cycles right.

Current studies show that excessive use of gadgets is having a negative impact on children's physical, social, mental and emotional well-being. According to experts, if we fail to keep children away from gadget addiction in time, we will have nothing left but regret in the future.
