Committing suicide

Killing oneself in a general sense is considered suicide. Actually suicide is an invisible disease, in many cases suicide is the end result of mental problems. Suicide incidents are happening not only in Nepal but all over the world.

According to the World Health Organization, about 720,000 people commit suicide in the world every year. *

In most countries, suicide and attempted suicide are considered a social sin and a legal crime. Suicide is also a great sin from a religious point of view. Not only Hindu scriptures - religious books like Quran, Bible also call it a great sin. Vedic scholar Dr. Sanjay Dev says, 'Ending human life for any reason is an insult to both human life and God.' It is said in Yajurveda, one of the four Vedas, 'The person who ends his body, he sinks into deep darkness.' Depression is also one of the leading causes of suicide. Along with depression, mental illnesses like anxiety, personality disorder and schizophrenia etc. are also causes of suicide.

People also commit suicide due to social and psychological reasons. Serious and painful physical diseases such as: cancer, HIV AIDS, sexual problems, failure in exams, separation and failure in love, difficult married life, illegitimate pregnancy, loss or damage in business, banking debt, social humiliation and social ostracism, loss of self-esteem, false accusations, defamation, neglect, dismissal from job, dishonor to others, death of loved ones and relatives, mental conflict, alcoholism or drug addiction, transgression or mutual relationship. Bitterness, sexual problems, dowry problems, domestic violence, rape, foreign employment, unemployment, financial problems have also become aspects of suicide.

If we get a disease or injury in our body, we go to the doctor and get treated. We take it for granted, but when we have mental illness or depression, we take it as a weakness or shame, because of which a person can't openly say his pain, he is afraid, if the society finds out, won't they reject me? He is hiding inside because he is afraid that he will not call me crazy.

When there is a lack of 'serotonin' chemical in the brain, people cannot control their anger, feelings and impulses. Then they become aggressive and destructive. In this connection, some people commit unpleasant incidents. At such a time, the family members should calmly pacify such a person by trusting them.

As the advent of technological age has brought the world closer, people have become more distant from each other. Because of mobile and social media, people today are lonely. There are more than a thousand friends on mobile and a post gets a thousand or a million likes, but how many people are with you in times of sorrow? How many people hear your pain? Rich people show off their achievements on social media, but

They keep their sorrows and pains a secret. This burden of pain and loneliness explodes one day and he is forever estranged from everyone.

We need to develop a culture of listening patiently to others. You should be able to maintain intimacy at all times, not just on occasions. The definition of success should be changed. Success is not only position, honor, wealth, glory, but also peace of mind, self-satisfaction, self-acceptance.

A very respectable and successful man struggles throughout his life to become a 'perfectionist', getting away from many in the game of making two fours and four eights. Such a person cannot tolerate even a small failure. Then thinking 'how could I be wrong?'

keeps you under constant mental pressure. Such a person cannot tolerate mistakes, criticism and failure. He begins to break down inside and this pain turns into self-blame, self-punishment and hatred and chooses the path of suicide to show that 'I am strong'.

In fact, people cannot forget the wounds of the past. Everyone's pain is connected with the past, the punishment of childhood mistakes, the pain of rape, sexual violence, humiliation leave a deep impression on the human mind. Even if he succeeds, he cannot come out of the past. These things also provoke suicide.

Similarly, some people are walking with one form outside and another inside. Such people laugh all day long, encourage and inspire others, but suffer from loneliness in their own homes. Talking about positive thinking in the society, but his attitude  They are ashamed to tell the

. Most of the people with such dual character end up choosing the path of suicide.

No man commits suicide all at once. People in the house should be alert if there are signs of depressing talk, trying to be alone, trying to be a philosopher. People who show such behavior should not be discouraged, but should be encouraged and encouraged. They should not be left alone. A psychiatrist should be seen and treated on time. We also need to see the suicidal person as sensitive, not as weak or cowardly. Positive thinking, simplicity, sympathy, active communication are effective medicine for suicide prevention.
