The royalists, who are campaigning to restore the monarchy in Nepal, have caused an uproar in the capital on Friday. Instead of presenting the ideological, political and practical logic and approach of their demands, they have proved that frenzy and anarchy are their identity and character by causing vandalism, arson and looting.

Instigated by the plan and blessings of the former king Gyanendra Shah, this defiant group has not only set fire to private and public properties, but has also made planned attacks on pharmaceutical factories and media houses, and has also entered commercial centers and looted. 

The group with the main mantra of returning the king to the throne is seen to be guided by a fundamentally apolitical, inhuman and insensitive psychology. This is not to return Gyanendra Shah to the throne, but rather to tarnish his remaining credit and honor as a citizen. Millions of people came to the streets in the 2062/63 mass movement. That movement is civilized, moderate and results-oriented because it is politically committed and morally honest. What could have been the result if the Janasagar had been uncontrolled for some reason as seen by the then King Gyanendra and his commanders from the helicopter? It is ironic that Gyanendra Shah and his commanders have not thought of it yet.

Not only did the royalist campaign itself appoint Prasai as the official commander, only a day earlier Prasai had sat down with the former king Gyanendra at Nirmal Niwas to make a plan. Especially this strange scene of Durga Prasain looking like Gyanendra Shah and Gyanendra Shah looking like Durga Prasar is a fatal combination for the country. The 'archaic' like Navaraj Subedi and the 'new variant' monarchists like Rabindra Mishra are betting on the fluid psychology of society for their insatiable aspirations. At this time, the quota has reached the point where it has to be 'cleared' - Rajendra Lingden and the leaders and workers of RPP under his leadership. Has the RP's complete trust in the constitution passed by the popularly elected Constituent Assembly ended? With the loss of faith in the Parliament, which gave the status of the fifth largest party in the country, is the pseudo-leadership of Durga Prasai and Rabindra Mishra now an option for them? The time has come for the identity, tendency and justification of RPP as a party to be clear.

Former king Gyanendra wants to return to power not by being elected by the votes of the Nepalese people, but by riding on the shoulders of a controversial person who is facing criminal charges like Durga Prasai. At that time, Gyanendra used to send army colonels as 'super editors' to media houses, now he has started sending the chaotic crowd to media houses, airports and pharmaceutical factories. This shows that even as a responsible citizen today, he is alienated from work, duty and accountability. Who are those who set fire to public, government and private property in the name of demonstration? In order to stimulate them, it is necessary for the state to conduct an intensive investigation and make them accountable as to who is active in the dark corners.
